Custom software for Albury Wodonga businesses

We build the software your team runs the job on.

Off-the-shelf software makes you work its way. So the gaps get filled with a spreadsheet, a whiteboard and one person’s memory. We build admin panels, staff portals and dashboards around how your team already works. You sign off the screens and the price before we build.

Start with a free audit. Give us your website and we look at the tools and spreadsheets your team runs on now, then sketch the screens with you.

The call takes thirty minutes. You sign off the screens and the price before anything is built.

The workshop sees today’s builds. The office sees quotes and money owed. Each person sees their part and nothing else.

What it looks like at Frontline Trays.

Frontline build custom ute trays, canopies and trailers in Kialla. They needed a back end the team could run with no developer. We built an admin panel with 11 custom content types, vehicle management, a quote builder and lead capture. The team now edits pages, gallery and catalogue themselves. Leads arrive sorted, where they used to arrive as a missed call.

Signs you have outgrown off-the-shelf.

Australian owners lose 12 to 15 hours a week to admin. A good share of it is working around software that almost fits.

The spreadsheet nobody admits to

It holds the real process. One person knows how it works. When they are on leave, the job stalls.

Five tools, and still a gap

You pay for each one. None of them does the thing your business does differently. So your team does that part by hand.

You changed how you work to suit the software

Buy off the shelf and you bend your process to fit it. Custom runs the other way. The software fits the process you already trust.

What we build, in one list.

Each one is scoped, designed and built from zero around how you work now, and how you want to work.

Admin panels and dashboards

  • One place to run quotes, jobs, stock and content
  • Your team updates it with no developer in the loop
  • Reports built from data you already hold, so nobody rebuilds them on Monday

Staff portals and internal tools

  • Each person sees their own jobs, forms and numbers
  • Roles and permissions, so the workshop cannot see the payroll

Client portals

  • Your clients log in to see progress, send changes, find files and pay invoices
  • We run our own clients through one, so we use what we build

Operations systems

  • Quote builders, stock control and job tracking shaped to your process
  • Lead capture that drops each enquiry in the right queue

Joined to what you run

Build it, or buy it.

A build you did not need is the dearest kind there is. So here is the test we use on the call.

Build it if

  • You pay for five tools and they still miss the job
  • Spreadsheets, whiteboards or manual steps fill the gaps
  • The way you work is the reason customers pick you
  • Different people need to see different things

Buy it if

  • One product covers most of the job. Buy the product
  • You ONLY need two tools to talk. That is systems integration, from $2,500
  • The real problem is too few enquiries. Start with SEO or web design
  • You have not run the process by hand yet. Run it first, then build

How a build runs, week by week.

Simple admin panels and internal tools are live in about three weeks. Most custom software lands in four to eight. You get the timeline before we start.

Week 1

How you work now

We watch the process as it runs today. That includes the spreadsheet nobody admits to and the whiteboard in the corner. Software built from an org chart is software nobody uses.

Every step above is work you can check. Ask any developer to show you the same list before you sign.

We recently used Automatrix to re-build our website. The new site is great with a simple admin panel that has everything we need when updating our site. The SEO/AEO is really performing as well. The guys are always Helpful when we need them and are always on the front foot with updates etc.

Not getting your website AI ready is going to be the same as forgetting to renew your Yellow Pages spot back in the 80s. One month after launching we can already see a big improvement in traffic and enquiries through search.

Questions about custom software.

Not sure a build is the next step? Our guide to costing automation work shows the sum to do first. Or see Albury, Wodonga and manufacturing and industrial.

How much does custom software cost?

From $9,000 for an internal admin panel or staff portal. A multi-user platform with roles, reporting and outside integrations runs to $25,000+. There is a managed monthly model if you would rather not pay up front. You sign off the screens first, and the price is fixed from that point.

Do I need custom software, or will off-the-shelf do?

If one product covers most of the job, buy the product. If you pay for five tools that still miss it, or you fill the gaps with spreadsheets and a whiteboard, custom usually costs less across three years. We tell you which on the audit call, even when the answer is to buy.

How long does custom software take to build?

Simple admin panels and internal tools are live in about three weeks. Most custom software lands in four to eight. Multi-user platforms with outside integrations run six to ten. You get the timeline before we start.

Who owns the software once it is built?

You do, in full. On a one-off build you get the code and the accounts, and you host it where you choose. On the managed model we handle hosting and ongoing changes for a monthly fee. Hand it to another developer when you like.

Can it connect to the tools we already use?

Yes. We connect to Xero, MYOB, Stripe, Tyro, Square, Shopify, HubSpot and most other platforms with an API. Where there is no official API, we can often build a connector. More on the systems integration page.

What happens after launch?

Your team gets trained on it. You get the code and the accounts. Support is optional, and you can cancel it. The software keeps running either way.

Is this the same as building an app for my customers?

It is close. This page covers software your own team runs: admin panels, staff portals, dashboards. If your customers will book, pay or log in, see app development. Many builds have both halves, and we quote them as one job.

Do you only build for Albury Wodonga businesses?

No. We are based in Albury Wodonga and build for businesses across regional NSW and Victoria and Australia-wide. Frontline Trays & Trailers is in Kialla, near Shepparton.

Get your free software audit.

We look at the tools, spreadsheets and workarounds your team runs on, then go through your process with you on a 30 minute call. You get the screens it needs, who sees what, what it joins to, and a fixed price. The audit is yours to keep, whether or not you use us.

What you get before you pay us anything

  1. How the work runs now. Written down, with the workarounds included.
  2. Where the manual hours go. So you can see what the gap costs you.
  3. Build or buy. A straight answer, with the product named if you should buy.
  4. A scope and a timeline. What gets built, in what order.
  5. A price. Fixed once you sign off the screens.
